Dr. Péter Kanizsai, head of the Department of Emergency Medicine has become a member of the American College of Emergency Physicians International Committee

Dr. Péter Kanizsai, head of the Department of Emergency Medicine attended the annual conference of the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) in Denver between 28 and 31 October. The primary purpose of his visit was to become a member of the International Committee, thus he was delighted to be elected Liaison for Hungary.

One of the objectives of ACEP is to get to know the emergency system of foreign countries, including Hungary. The association is seeking assistance from the University of Pécs, which offers opportunities for raising awareness of emergency care widespread, participating in collaborative campaigns on a variety of topics such as sepsis, drug use, system abuse, and organizational and operational issues.

Dr. Péter Kanizsai has had a personal contact with dr. Gregory Volfuro before who is positive about the collaboration between the UP and the University of Massachusetts (UMass), about which a dean’s consultation can be expected in the future.

The head of the Department of Emergency Medicine was pleased to note that Hungarian theoretical knowledge is not lagging behind compared to the theoretical knowledge abroad. However, well-considered innovation based on clean foundations still has a lot of room in Hungary to which he will contribute with his proposals.
