The Prize for Best Care is awarded
to the Dept. of Gynaecology and Obstetrics

This year the Prize for Best Care was awarded for the third time. The prize was founded by the KRIO Institute with the aim to call attention to perinatal care, to baby- and mother-friendly institutions, since pregnant care, childbirth and the following hospitalization days, the care provided by the staff of the clinic are all determining experiences for all mothers.

The questionnaires were filled in by clients having signed a contract with the KRIO Institute. The questionnaires included questions regarding the patients’ hospitalization before, during and after delivery, health care services, expertise, helpfulness and responsiveness of the staff. 69 health care institutions have been evaluated by more than a thousand respondents. The first prize was awarded to the Dept. of Gynaecology and Obstetrics of the University of Pécs, followed by the Dept. of Obstetrics and Gynaecology of the University of Debrecen, with the University Teaching Hospital Miskolc ranking third. “It is important to introduce and acknowledge good examples and to provide a forum for the mothers to express their opinions about national clinics and hospitals where they can give birth to their newborns.-said Istvan Balogh, MD, scientific director of the KRIO Institute.”The prize is associated with a present worth 2 million HUF that will be spent by the clinic to enhance the safeness and standards of obstetrics.”
