Social media has become one of the main sources of nutritional information for young people—but not everything online is accurate or helpful. Fed by the Feed: Social Media and Food Beliefs is an interactive workshop that explores how platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and other online sources influence the way we think about food, diets, and health.
Date & Time: April 16 (Thursday), from 16:00 to 17:15.
Location: University of Pécs Medical School, Room SIOT 1015
The workshop will be led by Laura Németh, dietitian and food scientist, who specializes in practical, evidence-based nutrition strategies for everyday life.
During the session, students will learn how social media algorithms shape nutrition trends, identify common nutrition myths, and recognize red flags in misleading content. Through interactive activities and discussions, participants will also practice simple tools to evaluate nutrition information critically and make food choices with more confidence and less fear.
The workshop aims to empower students to navigate online nutrition content more critically and develop a balanced, evidence-based perspective on food and health.
Participation is free of charge for students of the UP Medical School, but registration is required.
Maximum number of participants is 15.*

Therefore, please note that if you do not notify us that you are unable to attend - at least 24 hours before the workshop date -, you will not be able to use the services of YourLife @ ÁOK this semester.
