Prevention has become the major focus point of modern medicine. Personal and population health goals do not stop at improving life expectancy. Staying physically, mentally active and healthy are key expectations. Steps of personal risk management include identification, measurement and analysis. As decision making is becoming more conscious the importance of adequate and objective data collection and analysis is crucial. Decisions regarding adjustments in timing and calibration of training and workload can be made using these sets of information. In order to minimize personal risk and maximize the efficacy of adaptation factors affecting performance can be controlled with proper guidance utilizing members of the sports medicine team.
