Infertility treatments will be free in Pécs as well

3 February 2020

The latest edition of the Hungarian Journal published a regulation, which makes infertility treatments completely free of charge. According to the announcement, free interventions will also be carried out at the University of Pécs.

According to index.hu, Viktor Orbán announced at a government briefing in January that in order to stop population decline they will make infertility treatments free of charge, abolish performance restrictions, and allow for certain institutions to account for implantations without a limit on quantity. According to the Hungarian Journal, currently there is a 90%  state support for infertility drugs but they can still cost 100 thousand HUF. If there is a regulation on these as well, women will have access to these drugs completely free of charge.
