The COVID vaccination campaign for students organized by the UP Medical School was successfully completed

15 September 2021

The vaccination campaign organized by the University of Pécs Medical School for Hungarian and international students was successfully completed; currently, the School does not organize any more vaccination days.

As is known, pursuant to the No. 2/2021 joint instruction of the Rector - Chancellor - President of the Clinical Center, to participate in the practical training related to their studies, the students of the Medical School need to take the COVID vaccine.

Therefore, the UPMS organized free vaccination appointments at the beginning of September for our Hungarian and international students studying general medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, and biotechnology. This option was available to both first-year and upper-year students, and the aim was primarily to take the first and second COVID vaccines.

According to the latest information of the UP Medical School, the organization of vaccinations was successful; at the same time, the institution stated that currently, it does not organize any more vaccination days due to the moderate interest of students. The School emphasizes that anyone who has not been vaccinated yet should make sure to take the opportunity and make an individual appointment at one of the central government options:

  • Hungarian citizens can register at vakcinainfo.gov.hu or www.eeszt.gov.hu;
  • international students have the opportunity to do so in the “Registration” menu at Vakcinainfo.gov.hu;
  • The place of vaccination is the UP Clinical Center Rákóczi Street Vaccination Center (Pécs, Rákóczi Street 2., entrance from Garay Street).

Those who would like to take the third vaccine and have a TAJ (Hungarian social security) number can indicate their need at vakcinainfo.gov.hu, at eeszt.gov.hu or with the help of the EESZT application.

In addition to taking the vaccine, it is important to adhere to the epidemiological regulations, pay close attention to protect ourselves and each other’s health by following general precautions, hygiene rules, social distancing, and mandatory mask use rules. The latter is provided for in the recent decision of the Operational Crew of 9 September, which can be accessed at this link.
