Cooperation between the J.J.Strossmayer University of Osijek and the UPMS

The Medical School of the University of Pécs and the Faculty of Medicine of the Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek successfully finished a year-long, EU-wide unique project, which could have a leading role in the mutual development of the cross-border healthcare and also increase the quality of medical services in the common border region.
Through the cooperation of the two universities and also with the support of Hungary-Croatia IPA Cross-border Co-operation Programme, the new Health Management program gives possibility on both sides of the border to the education of health care providers corresponding to the newest challenges and paves the way for further future developments.
In the focus of the joint educational program will be the situation and role of the healthcare management in the EU, the necessity and practice of the cross-border medical care in the region, as well as the support of disadvantaged group, ethnic minorities and immigrants through public healthcare. Beside the education a mutual Knowledge Base has been developed delivering important benefits to both academic and health organizations.
The joint program serves in addition to the students also auxiliary workers of the healthcare, including the management, nurses, clerks and health insurance professionals.
