11 December 2012
Representatives of the Medical School handed over more than 1 Million forint to the Pediatric Clinic of the University of Pécs on the 6 December. The money was raised in the framework of the charity event „Cocktails for a cause", a tradition that started 7 years ago by two american students of the English program. Over the past few years, the donations helped several times the operation of the Clinic and also other associations of Pécs.
Dr. Dénes Molnár, director of the Paediatric Clinic expressed his gratitude for the support in the name of the children and emphasized the importance of giving, especially around the holidays. Dr. Zsolt Biró, vice dean for Clinical and Student Welfare Affairs was present to thank for the generous action of the students, encouraging them to continue this noble initiative. The money was handed over with a symbolic handshake and partly will be used to the Christmas celebration of the small patients. However, it will also be supplementary in 2 more projects next year; the clinic plans to buy new furniture for the renewed out-patient department and also, install an elevator to carry patients to the higher floors.
We would like to thank you all who have contributed to helping the Paediatric Clinic!
