UP International Spring "Stay Home!" - online program series

9 April 2020

The aim of the International Spring program series, which is to be held for the fourth time at the University of Pécs, is to develop a dialogue between Hungarian and foreign young people studying at the UP, to introduce different cultures not only to university citizens but also to the city's population.

Given the current epidemiological situation, most of the programs will take place in the fall. Until then, however, the organizers do not want to leave the followers of the InternationalSpring Facebook page alone. The aim is to strengthen the belonging and care of those interested in culture, to enrich the period spent at home with programs and challenges that, besides community building, help encourage to accept and love foreigners studying at the University of Pécs through their posts and culture.

In the online version of the International Spring stay home edition, those interested can enjoy cultural programs on different topics every day.

On Mondays, in the “Sing it UP” challenge, UP students will publish a folk song from their own country, subtitled so that as many people as possible can learn and the enterprising singers can also upload their own versions to the page. The singer who collects the most likes will win a gift pack.

The HomeArtOffice movement arrives on Tuesdays where famous paintings, photos and film excerpts are reproduced with humour and creativity at home. In addition to the new photos that will make people smile, they will also share interesting information about the original works. The first of these has already been posted.

On Wednesdays, the followers of the page are guided into the world of gastronomy. Recipes and videos from UP's "50 Deli" international cookbook will be shared, and there will also be an online wine tasting and dessert competition.

On Thursdays and Fridays, there will be weekly programs with various themes. There will be dance instruction with the participation of the Dancing University, a live dj-set, and DIY ideas from the Botanical Garden as well. In addition, an online charity auction of Wei Xiang’s paintings continues on the page until the end of April.

It is worth following the Facebook page of InternationalSpring, so you can enrich the time spent together at home!
