From 7 a.m. on 1 November, the procedure of emergency care for patients suspected or confirmed of being infected with the coronavirus will change in Pécs. Taking into account patient safety aspects as well, the emergency department (SBO) of the Coronavirus Care Center will be reopened at the Rákóczi Street (former County Hospital) site of the UP Clinical Center, which the citizens can reach from Szendrey Júlia Street, which can be accessed from Garay Street.
Due to the epidemiological situation, anyone with symptoms suggestive of coronavirus infection (experiencing even one of the following symptoms: fever, cough, dyspnoea, or sudden onset of lack/disorder of smell, taste) is asked to call their GP by phone.
The GP will ask the patients via the phone and based on the answers, will decide whether they can be suspected of being infected with the coronavirus.
If the GP considers that further investigation is warranted, please contact the Emergency Department of the Coronavirus Care Center (Szendrey Street) instead of the University of Pécs Clinical Center Emergency Department (old 400-bed clinic)! They also ask the patients not to use public transport to get to the emergency department!
Wearing a face mask is still mandatory at the premises of the University of Pécs Clinical Center.
