Topic

The aim of the subject is that the experiments and their explanations help students understand the relationships and interpret the measurement procedures based on the principles of analytical chemistry. During the curse, a special role is given to getting to know the careful, precise and quantitative analytical work, during which the students master the micro and semi-micro methods, thus minimizing the environmental load in the laboratory.

During the skill development in the practices, the students become capable of quality control according to modern pharmacopoeia standards, which is essential for ensuring safe and innovative drug supply. Mastering precise measurement techniques not only serves professional excellence, but also lays the foundation for the authority of environmentally conscious and responsible pharmacists.

Conditions for acceptance of the semester

Two midterm tests (on the topics of the lectures and the practices) will be written during the semester. One of the test results should be above 60%, and the average of the test results should be above 50%. One retake test is allowed in the 14th week of the semester. The result of the retake test is added to those of the first two. The condition for admission to the exam is the successful completion of a practical subject taken in parallel.

Making up for missed classes

There is no possibility to make up missed lectures.

Exam topics/questions

Oral exam covering the topics of Pharmacopoeial Analysis 1. and Pharmacopoeial Analysis 2. The oral part of the examination consists of two items. In case of insufficient knowledge of any of them, the exam ends with an insufficient grade. The list of questions of the final exam is available for the students.
