Topic

Optical sensors are widely used for in-situ, in vivo and online measurements as well as in process control. The interaction of light with materials results in a broad range of possible optical sensing methods. The selective chemical recognition coupled with optical detection techniques allow to create optical sensors with completely different geometry. Students taking the course will learn the different kind of optical sensors, their working principles; medical applications, the applications in environmental monitoring and process control are also discussed.
