Tasks

Our mission

The task of the Admissions and English Student Service Office is informing applicants of the English programme and servicing the employees and students of the Medical School by organising and transacting entrance exams and by helping students in non-educational matters. We aim to maintain the high level of the English language courses by completing our tasks in the most precise and efficient manner possible.

Our tasks

The Admissions and English Student Service Office has a double function. Its main profile is to follow and monitor the full admission process from application to enrolment for the international applicants of the English Program in General Medicine, Dentistry, Biotechnology and Pharmacy, e.g. keeping records of the applicants, organising and accomplishing entrance exams, providing support for the English Program Committee by carrying out administrative tasks concerning the decision-making process, ensuring the daily contact with the recruiting companies and foreign representatives.

The staff provides an in-depth coverage for foreign inquiries about general medicine qualification in Hungary, about the pre-requisites of application and admission to the English-language Program, about the admission process, and orientation days are organised for future students 4-5 times each year. The Student Service Office organises a 3-week long preparatory course for admitted students: a 120-hour Biology-Chemistry-Physics course.

Orientation for Norwegian students arriving to Pécs within the framework of the Bjørknes programme is also the responsibility of the office.

The secondary function of the Office is providing help in non-educational issues to all of the active students, such as mediation between Immigration Authorities and university students, organizing Hepatitis vaccination, providing and managing lockers.
