Conditions for acceptance of the semester
Delay from the practice will not be accepted and will be considered as absence. Protective clothing + changing shoes are mandatory.
Students are required to perform the indicator performances described in the Conservative Dentistry Department on patients treated during the semester or, in exceptional cases, on a phantom or dental model. During the semester, at least 3 of these interventions will be graded (acceptable, unacceptable) during the practical sessions. The intervention to be graded will be selected and graded by the specialist by checking the whole or certain stages of the intervention. If one of the three indicator performances is unacceptable (either due to lack of theoretical knowledge or insufficient practical execution), it will be possible to improve it by performing a designated indicator intervention once during one of the following practical sessions. If the intervention with the intention to improve is not acceptable, the semester will be refused.
Mid-term exams
Students may miss up to 2 certified absences from the exercises. In the event of theoretical deficiencies in patient care or negligence that endangers the health of the patient, the trainer may suspend the treatment and the acceptance of the semester may be affected by the occurrence of these events.

Extra- and intra-oral examination, caries status assessment - recognition of natural (physiological and pathological) and artificial formations, clinical and radiological diagnosis of caries.
- Performing clinical endodontic examinations; making a diagnosis based on clinical and radiological findings.
- Performing single and multi-tooth cofferdam isolation.
- Knowledge of instruments and equipment required for basic restaurative and endodontic care.
- Black I-V. modified conventional or minimally invasive cavity shaping according to the type of filling planned.
- Knowledge and proper application of matrix systems used in the Conservative Dentistry Department.
- Accurate knowledge of composite filling steps, preparation of proper quality fillings (including isolation, matrix placement, use of adhesive system, filling application, occlusal adjustment, finishing-polishing).
- Preparation of glass ionomer fillings of appropriate quality (including isolation, matrix placement if necessary, filling application, occlusion adjustment if necessary, finishing-polishing, surface varnishing if necessary).
- Correct execution of basic (simple) endodontic treatment (proper design of access cavity, canal localisation and capitulation, working length determination with apex locator/radiology, step-back preparation, lateral condensation definitive root filling, preparation/cleaing of access cavity for filling).
- Decision making on the type of restorative treatment to protect the tooth against fracture.
