Effect of ear surgery with different techniques on taste perception - a prospective clinical study
Supervisor: RÉVÉSZ, Péter
During middle ear surgery, manipulation around the chorda tympani is mostly unavoidable, which may lead to temporary or permanent nerve damage. To better understand the effects of preparation around the nerve with different tools, we perform taste testing in the perioperative period to identify and screen for undesirable manipulations.
The role of liquid biopsy in the diagnosis and follow-up of head and neck cancer patients
Supervisor: SOMOGYVÁRI, Krisztina
A revolting area in the diagnosis of tumors and the follow-up of cancer patients is precision medicine, one area of which is the analysis of information obtained from body fluids by liquid biopsy. During the formation and progression of tumors, abnormal substances appear. We try to detect these abnormalities in blood and saliva from patients with head and neck cancer. Our goal is to demonstrate the presence of these abnormal circulating elements (circulating tumor cells, circulating tumor DNA, exosomes, etc.) at follow-up of patients, so that by recognizing early tumor recurrence, therapy can be modified as soon as possible.
