Topic
The course provides a general introduction to Bioinformatics. A survey of practical applications follows a brief theoretical overview for each sub-topic. The handling of omics and structural data, along with the corresponding file types, is introduced. A special emphasis is placed on structure-based drug design methodologies. Basic skills are practiced in the computer lab for each topic. The course is mostly based on open-source or free software, and students are encouraged to further improve their computer skills through homework on their personal computers.
