Information for students about PCR testing

15 February 2021

Dear Students,

We would like to provide you with the following information regarding student PCR testing: after discussion with the faculty leadership and HÖK, testing will continue as follows from February 15, 2021:

UP MS will only provide free PCR tests for students if:

  • they are arriving in Hungary for the first time in the 2020/2021 academic year, meaning they have not taken part in education in the first semester;
  • if PCR testing is required for clinical practice, and the student has written proof of this;
  • if the student is quarantined due to infection or suspicion of infection not of their own fault, and they need the PCR test in order to attend studies at the university campus;
  • if the student is participating in non-COVID related volunteer work after taking part in COVID care.

In the above cases, registration for testing is still available through HÖK, by filling the following survey and by shoving proof of eligibility for free testing:

After certifying the uploaded documents, HÖK will forward the schedule below to the staff of FMK:

Schedule of free PCR testing

We would like to let students know that the FMK staff will only perform the free testing on students who are on the list.

Students who do not fulfil any of the above criteria will have to pay for PCR testing. This mostly affects students who have spent the previous semester in Pécs, have travelled home for the exam period and are now in need of a PCR test to leave the mandatory quarantine upon returning. They will be able to get tested at one of the private clinics in Pécs, or sign up for tests organised by FMK at the following contacts (these options are both self-financed by the student):
