Thematik

Pharmacy ethics provides pharmacy students with the theoretical and partly practical knowledge that will help them to develop and implement ethical and responsible pharmacy practice. The aim of the course is to identify and resolve ethical dilemmas, develop ethical behaviour and improve the relationship between the health professional and the patient.

The subject matter of the course generally starts with an introduction to the basics of ethics, and continues with the process of ethical decision-making and the identification of ethical problems. Among other things, it includes knowledge of the laws, regulations and organisational frameworks that govern ethical pharmaceutical practice.

Semesteranforderungen

Conditions for the acceptance of the semester are as follows:

Students are required to complete 2 written assessments during the semester on predetermined dates. The cumulative result of these assessments must be at least 60.1%. The institute provides an opportunity to make up any missed assessments; failure to take advantage of this opportunity results in a grade of 0% for that assessment. If the combined result of the two written assessments is below 60.1%, two opportunities for improvement are provided, in accordance with the Code of Studies and Examinations. The first retake assessment must achieve a minimum grade of 60.1%. If the first retake assessment is unsuccessful/insufficient, the second retake assessment must also achieve at least 60.1% for semester acceptance (provided that absences have not exceeded the specified limit).
The mid-semester grade is calculated based on the average of the assessments.
