Thematik

A solid theoretical knowledge is important in all clinical subjects of Medical School. However, practical skills are crucial to apply medical training to real life patients. This 3-day-course (at the beginning of September, incl. exam day) will cover several theoretical and practical aspects. Its goal is to create the basis of being a supporting bedside teacher (demonstrator) and to improve the teacher-student-relationship: After this course, potential demonstrators should have strong expertise in the physical examination of patients in the clinic of internal medicine. Accordingly, the new demonstrators will practically train the physical examination, which is also a key aspect in the evaluation of exams in all upcoming subjects of internal medicine.
The first part of the course is primarily focused on taking a well-structured medical history and building connections between patient’s statements/ keywords to the student’s medical expertise. The second part is to revise and update the existing medical knowledge and skills for the physical examination. The course ends with a practical and theoretical exam in the MediSkillsLab.
The course is not for a make-up course, but sohould prepare highly motivated students, and to perform teaching activities at the current semester in Introdcution into the Int. Medicine.
