• 1. Examine the patient`s ear. Examine the patient`s nose and nasal cavities (antenior rhinoscopy)
• 2. Hearing aids, irrigation of external ear canal, removal of foreign bodies from the external ear
• 3. Examine the patient's oral cavity.Examine the patient's larynx and hypopharynx (indirect laryngoscopy)
• 4. Examine the patient's nasopharynx (posterior rhinoscopy). Test of the patient's hearing (voice, Weber test, Rinne test)
• 5. Test of the patient's vestibular system (spontaneous nystagmus Romberg test). Test of the patient's function of the facial nerve
• 6. Test of the patient's neck. Draining of a peritonsillar abscess
• 7. Test of the patient's cerebellar signs . Caloric test
• 8. Tests of the patient's Eustachian tube function. Myringotomy
• 9. Control of epistaxis. Antral lavage

Voraussetzung zum Absolvieren des Semesters

During the last 2 seminars of the semester period, we ask for the above practical skills as part of an exam.

In the case of an unsuccessful practical exam, the semester is acceptable, but the student must repeat the practical exam on the day of the theory exam.

In the case of a successful exam, only a theoretical exam must be taken during the exam period.

1. Pure tone audiometry, speech audiometry

2. Objective audiometry (tympanometry, stapedius reflex, Brainstem Evoked Response Audiometry)

3. Diseases of the pinna, external ear canal, disorders of the tympanic membrane, tumours of the external ear

4. Serous otitis media (acute, chronic). Suppurative otitis media (acute, chronic). Complications of suppurative otitis media

5. Idiopathic facial nerve palsy. Bell-palsy

6. Disorders of the inner ears, trauma, Méniére disease

7. Cochlear implantation

8. Sleep apnoea

9. Diseases of the external nose (congenital malformations, trauma, infection, tumours. Furunculus nasi)
10. Obstruction of the nasal airway. Rhinitis. Allergic rhinitis

11. Fractures of the paranasal sinuses. Fronto-basal, maxillo-facial, blow out fractures, Le-Fort fractures

12. Paranasal sinusitis. Tumours of the salivary glands (benign and malignant)

13. Sialoadenitis, tumours of the salivatory glands

14. Lymphadenitis of the neck. Differential diagnosis of the neck masses

15. Infectious diseases of the oral cavity and pharynx (peritonsillar abscess)

16. Praecancerous disorders in the oral cavity, pharynx, larynx and oesophagus

17. Malignant tumours in the oral cavity and pharynx, larynx, nasopharynx

18. Acute and chronic laryngitis

19. Benign and malignant tumours of the larynx. Classifications of laryngeal cancers. TNM
