I’m a 2nd year General Medicine student in the English program. I’ve been in Pécs since 2021, so its safe to say I’ve been through a lot of the things you may be going through now. From having the best time and forming relationships, to failing exams and wondering: “What now?”. The highest highs and the lowest lows, I’ve faced them all.
The one thing I’ve learned from all of this is that you shouldn’t be afraid to ask for help if you need it, no matter how small the problem. There is someone out there that will be able to help and support you. I’m part of the Peer program to be that person. So, feel free to reach out with anything that you might be struggling with, be it study related or personal matters.
Also, don’t forget, that being successful in your studies is about finding balance, not just sitting in front of a textbook all day.
Sulics Laura
I’m Laura Sulics, a 5th year general medicine student in the Hungarian program, and I’ve been an
active member of the Peer program since 2022.
I belive no other university can oer the same special feeling as a medical school. You’ll cry and laugh together, suer “just a bit” during exam periods, but once you overcome the challenges,
you’ll soar! Countless opportunities will come your way if you make the most of your time here. I also had the chance to gain wonderful experiences, as I spent one month in Germany and
another in Thailand as part of an exchange program. I want to share the knowledge and
experiences I’ve gained over the years so others can also enjoy and benefit from the
opportunities I had.
I believe that there is only one way to successfully complete medical school: a lot of
perseverance!
(And sometimes, you can’t do it alone.) I know it's not easy to get this far, but it's worth it. That's what I would like to help you with.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact me on Facebook or Instagram and and I’ll do my best to help you!

If you ever feel uncertain about your social life or just want some tips on the best spots in the city, feel free to reach out. I believe that asking for help is a strength, and I’m here to make your experience easier and more enjoyable.

Setareh Bahreini

My name is Setare, but you can call me Sati for ease. I’m a fourth-year medical student with a deep interest in both mental and physical health. Over the years, I’ve worked on caring for my body and improving my mental health with the support of a therapist, as well as by exploring and reading about ways to enhance well-being. I believe that understanding ourselves and learning strategies to cope with challenges can make life feel lighter, especially during difficult times. I want to support others in navigating their challenges, and I know that with help, life can feel easier. I value creating a safe, non-judgmental space where people can share openly and feel heard. I also try my best to guide others toward professional help or resources if needed, because caring sometimes means connecting someone with the support they deserve.

Nesian Guevara

Hi! I'm Nesian and in my 4th-year of medical studies. I'm fond of singing and playing musical instruments, and a member of the VoicePOTEntials and the Unibuddy program, an IMP mentor, and a student volunteer at PSZIKON.
Having the opportunity to pursue medical studies is a dream come true for me, but I recently realized that accomplishing it is not an easy feat. It challenged me to the point that my mental health also struggled for a time. So, for someone like me who greatly values mental health, my academic setbacks taught me that we are never made to carry our struggles and emotional burdens on our own, rather we are to comfort and strengthen each other as we go through hardships. It also made me remember what my previous psychology professors taught me: that, at times, a person facing hardships does not need any advice at all, rather what they truly need, in the midst of their struggle, is a listening ear.
So, if you are struggling with anything, may it be a personal matter or anything study-related, feel free to reach out to me. Remember, you are not alone in your journey.
