Topic

One of the major challenges for the health care system of the 21st century is the high number of cancer caused deaths. Over the past decades, despite a significant development on the field of medicine, the prognosis of this disease is still not satisfactory. Thus prevention has a key role in in the fight against cancer. The course gives a description on the different types of cancer their major risk factors for a more detailed understanding. Methods of cancer prevention will be described and emphasized - including theoretical knowledge and a practical guide as well. During the course the results of most recent human epidemiological studies on cancer will also be described.
