Topic

The past is the root of the present. It can be true not only on an individual level but also on higher levels of organisations such as populations. The aim of this course is to introduce the demographic history of Europe from the 17th century. Potentially available demographic data about the health of populations are also discussed. Topics included are the history and the main sources of demography, the structure and changes of populations in time and space as well as demographic transitions, among others.
