Topic

Diabetes mellitus is one of the most common chronic diseases of the modern world, and its diagnosis, therapeutic monitoring, and prevention of complications are largely based on laboratory diagnostics. The aim of this course is to develop the medical students’ knowledge of diabetes and to improve their laboratory diagnostic skills. The course topics include the laboratory differentiation of different types of diabetes mellitus, diagnostic criteria, acute and chronic complications, and the laboratory aspects of drug therapies through clinical case studies.
