High quality care is provided by are physicians and nurses at two intensive care units (general and at the Department of Neurosurgery) involving 25 beds, that means each year ca. 2500 patients of critical condition.

Our Pain Relief Centre has been providing care for patients with unbearable pain for nearly 4 decades. We apply up-to-date methods: regional anesthesia techniques, combined medications and transcutaneous electric nerve stimulation.

Beside the clinical work extensive research is performed in our wards and operating theatres. Also, we participate in teaching medical students, postgraduate education, preparing our colleagues for the specializing exam and in the further training of our specialists and trained auxiliary workers. We have 3 subunits: Departments of Pain Relief, Pediatric Anesthesiology and Obstetric Anesthesiology.
