Institute of Transdisciplinary Discoveries

Introduction

The Institute of Transdisciplinary Discoveries at the University of Pécs Medical School operates at the intersection of modern medicine and advanced data-driven research. The institute’s primary focus is uncovering the molecular background of tumors, identifying prognostic and predictive biomarkers, and developing bioinformatic tools that support therapeutic decision-making.

Our institute integrates large-scale genomic, transcriptomic and other multi-omic datasets, applying artificial intelligence and machine learning to achieve a more precise understanding of cancer biology. Its internationally recognized, open-access analytical platforms – including survival-analysis and biomarker-evaluation tools – support translational oncology researchers and clinicians worldwide.

Aligned with the strategic goals of the Medical School, the ITD aims to create genuine innovation in biomedical science by connecting discovery research, data-driven analytics and clinical applications, ultimately contributing to the improvement of patient care.
