Topic

Course Description: This course offers a practical guide to creating impactful visual abstracts for scientific articles, with a special focus on topics related to medical and healthcare innovation. Through hands-on training in Biorender, Slidequest, and Infografia, students will learn to distill complex research findings into concise, visually engaging summaries that can effectively communicate to both scientific and general audiences.

 

Course Objectives:

Understanding the importance and impact of visual abstracts in scientific communication. Gaining proficiency in Biorender, Slidequest, and Infografia to create visual abstracts. Developing the ability to convey complex medical information succinctly through visuals. Enhance storytelling skills to make research findings accessible and engaging. Create a portfolio of visual abstracts for different audiences and purposes.

Mid-term exams

Successful completion of the course requires continuous work. From the second session onwards, each participant will be required to work on a presentation in addition to the centrally assigned tasks. The assessment will be based primarily on the degree of individual progress shown during the semester and the attitude in class.

Making up for missed classes

an extra hour of absence is allowed with proven and demonstrated homework

Exam topics/questions

The course ends with a mid-term grade, so there are no exam questions.
