Our athletes won the overall second place at the 49th Medical Cup

11 April 2022

The renowned Medical Cup has been held every year since 1972 in one of the cities of the four medical schools - DE ÁOK, UPMS, SZTE ÁOK, Semmelweis University. Students compete in men's and women's handball, basketball, volleyball, men's water polo and small-sided football with athletes from the partner universities during a weekend.

This year, Pécs hosted the event between 8 and 10 April, organized by the Student Council, the University Student Council, the Sports and Physical Education Center, and the Marketing and Communications Department. The event, held for the 49th time, was once again very popular. The young people of our School were very successful this year as well, winning the overall second place. Semmelweis University finished in the first place, Debrecen in the third, and Szeged in the fourth.

At least five thousand people attended the exciting event, which also included a new fan zone where the matches were streamed. According to the organizers, the teams cheered for each other in a very fair manner.
