Topic
During the laboratory exercises, students gain experience with experimental techniques used in field of integrative physiology and neuroscience, along with the analysis and interpretation of experimental data. The knowledge acquired will support the design and implementation of related animal model experiments or pharmaceutical studies. By the end of the course, students will be able to apply their knowledge in experimental planning, as well as in the evaluation and interpretation of research results.

Reading material
Obligatory literature
Literature developed by the Department
Study material is the sum total of information given during lab practices and description of laboratory practices available on the Institue's website.
Important messages on new information will be announced at the lectures and will be sent to the students by course mails.
Notes
Find and read the relevant chapters on the homepage of PTE ÁOK Institute of Physiology: Physiology Lab Practices, online study material.
Recommended literature
Thomas M. Jessell Steven A. Siegelbaum: Principles of Neural Science, Sixth Edition, 2021, ISBN 1259642232 (McGraw-Hill)
Pocket Companion to Guyton and Hall Textbook of Medical Physiology (Guyton Physiology) 14th Edition by John E. Hall PhD, Michael E. Hall MD MSc. (2020)
Conditions for acceptance of the semester
To have the semester signed, students must attend the lab practices and complete the worksheets related to lab exercises.
Mid-term exams
During the semester, students' activity during the lab practices, and the completion of the worksheets will be assessed by the instructors.
Making up for missed classes
The missed laboratory practice is advised to be covered by joining another group while the same topic is on schedule. If it is not possible, making up for a missed laboratory practice class should be arranged with the corresponding teacher.
Exam topics/questions
Evaluation will be based on the in-semester activity during laboratory practices, the filled-in exercise worksheets, and the result of the end-semester written assessment of student's knowledge.
