A high-ranking delegation of doctors from the Jordanian Royal Medical Services visited our School

8 July 2022

At the invitation of our School, a high-ranking medical delegation from the Jordanian Royal Medical Services (RMS) visited Hungary. The delegation was led by Brigadier General Dr. Yousef Jamal Zureikat, cardiac surgeon and director of the RMS. Two brigadier generals and a lady brigadier general were also members of the delegation as experts.

Our School has a very good relationship with the Jordanian partner, our PhD students and teachers have visited the RMS facilities in Amman on two occasions. The reason for the invitation was the bilateral Memorandum of Understanding signed in 2020, under which our School undertook to provide the Jordanian side with a ventilator for infants.

The delegation is particularly interested in the general activities of the Medical Skills Education and Innovation Centre, including the PhD research of the Defense Research Group, and is also open to the work in the field of cardiology and the PhD trainings at our School.

During their program in Pécs on 6 July, they visited the Medical Skills Education and Innovation Centre, the 1st Department of Internal Medicine, and the new campus. They met Jordanian students studying here and then had a discussion with Professor Tibor Ertl, Dean's Representative for Postgraduate Education, who said that the School has a contract with the Jordanian partner until 2023, which they would like to renew. The high-ranking delegation concluded their stay in Pécs with a city tour.

During their stay, they also visited several Hungarian military health facilities: the Health Centre of the Hungarian Defence Forces, the Cardiac Rehabilitation Institute in Balatonfüred, the Rehabilitation Institute of the Health Centre in Hévíz, and the NATO MILMED. Several doctors who graduated from our university are working in the institutes of the RMS.
