The Pécs Medical School is among the best medical schools worldwide again in the latest world ranking of QS World University Rankings based on subject. The 2024 ranking of QS Quacquarelli Symonds shows 55 fields of science and 16400 university courses worldwide. Among these, the University of Pécs has placed 401-450 in the field of medicine, keeping its ranking from last year.
The April 10, 2024 publication of QS World University Rankings by Subjects, completed by global higher education analytic firm QS Quacquarelli Symonds, provides an independent comparative analysis of the performance of over 16400 university courses. The surveys were conducted in 96 locations worldwide in 55 fields of science by the students of over 1500 universities. QS uses 5 key metrics to compile the rankings based on fields of science. Reputation metrics are based on the replies to the QS survey of over 240 thousand employers and educators, while the citation per article and the H-index measure the impact and productivity of research. The International Research Network serves the evaluation of cross-border research cooperations.
Dr. Tamás Fedeles, vice-rector for education at the University of Pécs has commented about the new international results: “Seeing the detailed scores, it is definitely positive that we have made improvement in metrics like citations, H-index, or the metric showing the impact of research publications, and the International Research Network. Let’s not forget that internationally acclaimed universities are also constantly developing in order to improve their ranking from last year, and we have managed to keep our ranking in this fierce competition in the field of medicine. I trust that in the upcoming years, other fields of science can also make it to QS’s internationally recognised and acclaimed rankings.”
A total of 10 higher education institutions and 45 courses have made it into the rankings published by Quacquarelli Symonds, available here:
