Ninth DDK Internal Medicine Workshop

18 November 2024

On November 9th, the ninth annual DDK Internal Medicine Workshop was held at our faculty, providing third- and fourth-year students with an opportunity to practice physical examination skills, enhance their theoretical knowledge, and expand their understanding of internal medicine.

Physical examination, along with medical history, is a fundamental pillar of diagnostic practice, and mastering it is essential knowledge for all medical students.

The all-day workshop was conducted simultaneously in three languages, divided into three sessions of 150 minutes each. A total of 96 students participated in the course (39 from the Hungarian program, 23 from the English program, and 34 from the German program). Following a brief theoretical introduction, students practiced a systematic “head-to-toe” physical examination in small groups under the supervision and guidance of trained demonstrators, reviewing relevant theoretical questions as well.

Feedback from the students was overwhelmingly positive, with participants expressing interest in similar initiatives in the future, as these provide them with high-quality, practical knowledge that can be applied during their professional training and internships.

Supervising physicians of the workshop were:

  • Dr. Judit Sebők, Senior Clinical Doctor, DDK Board Member,
  • Dr. Kristóf Filipánits, Resident Physician, DDK Board Member,
  • Dr. Miklós Koppán Jr., Resident Physician.

Demonstrators:

  • Hungarian Program: Levente Blakney, Dorka Horváth, Soma Huber, Szabrina Kárpáti, Krisztina Kiss, Hanna Koppán, Ágnes Kristofoletti, Liliána Lucas, Nóra Molnár, and Mira Zsófia Peresztegi, Marcell Szkevisz.

  • German Program: Alicia Liebold, Emilia Wunderlich, Lia Gläsel, Linea Walther, Luca Elias Richter, Katharina Bojzov, Michèle Boschert, Moritz Henkel, Sabrina Bohler, and Vincent Keppler.
