Aikido is a modern manifestation of traditional Japanese martial arts. The practitioner of aikido neutralizes an attack by unbalancing the opponent, redirecting, and reversing the energy of their attack. The goal of practicing aikido is not to defeat the opponent but to continuously develop the body and mind, making it a practice that can be sustained over the long term.
