Tematika

Carbon is an indispensable element of life, thanks to the ability to form different chemical bonds with most elements of the periodic table, enabling the creation of different and complex life forms. The discovery of the organic carbon compounds has been started in the 19th century, and now they are the part of our lives. Nowadays the previously discovered allotropes of carbon – fullerenes, carbon nanotubes, graphenes, graphene nanoribbons – are in the focus, however, their real wide application still seems to be a big challenge and needs further investigations. During this curse, students will be introduced to the promising pharmaceutical chemistry, medical and biological applications of these materials and to the latest results of related research.
