Tematika

The aim is to improve delivery skills to be ready-to-use both in case of Power Point presentations and scientific posters. We will smoothly address the technical barriers to public presentation regarding scientific work, thesis, and later medical careers. Thus, during the lectures and exercises, we place special emphasis on developing skills using the most common research and presentation software. We create content and show design recommendations in line with current design trends, all distilled in a professional medical style. Software: OneDrive, Power Point, Word, Mendeley, Endnote, Adobe Creative Suite.

Gyakorlatok

• 1. set up laptops. Fix title slides. Create your own title slide. The title slide is also the closing slide.
• 2. Create table of contents. Create sections. Using the Slide Master. Using design ideas. Using slide elements: title, header, footer, slide number.
• 3. Slide Master for background and text formatting. Acquisition, placement, composition of royalty free photos and icons.
• 4. Transformation, coloring, applying effects to illustrations. Combine image and text. Minimum font size: 32 pt. Text compression techniques. Search for keywords. Complex dynamics of font, color and background. Download and apply fonts. Create a slide with dark and light backgrounds.
• 5. Fix 3 broken slides. + collect 5 trendy graphs.+ Use Mendeley to create a bibliography from a scientific article
• 6. Editing an unformatted document of 20-30 pages. Edit unformatted 20-30 pages of text based on a theoretical summary.
• 7. Creating a Demo Poster
• 8. Choose a topic from your own or demo themes, then choose flyers, design elements from theme collection sites. Analyze and implement ideas obtained from creative sites.

Successful completion of the course requires continuous work. All along from the second event, each participant will have to work on their own presentation in addition to the centrally released assignments. The evaluation takes into account the degree of individual development, ability of critical thinking during the semester and the overall attitude.

Completing extra homework can substitute only one additional absence

Vizsgakérdések

Course ends up with a mid-term grade, so there is no exam during the exam period.
