Európai Nyelvi Díj
Intézetünk a demonstrátor hallgatók szaknyelvi oktatásban történő alkalmazásáért, az innovatív nyelvoktatási módszertan kifejlesztéséért és hatékony alkalmazásáért Európai Nyelvi Díjban részesült.
Az Európai Bizottság által indított kezdeményezést Magyarországon a Tempus Közalapítvány gondozza, amelynek célja, hogy elismerésben részesítse az idegen nyelvek tanítása terén megvalósuló, példaértékűnek minősülő és innovatív programokat, folyamatokat az oktatás és képzés bármely szintjén.

Idézet munkánk értékeléséből: "A pályázat egy digitális eszközöket intenzíven használó, módszertanilag megalapozott, újszerű, eredeti, hasznos és fenntartható nyelvi programot mutat be, amely figyelembe veszi az orvostanhallgatók valós szaknyelvi szükségleteit.... A demonstrátor hallgatók szakmai hitelességükkel segítik a nyelvoktatókat, hogy azok a nyelvi kompetenciákat célirányosan és hatékonyan közvetítsék. ... A pályázat maradéktalanul megfelel a megadott európai prioritásoknak. A projekt az orvos-beteg kommunikáció színvonalának erősítésével többletértéket tartalmaz nemzeti szinten."

In April 2024 my colleague and I visited the Department of Languages for Biomedical Purposes and Communication (LBPC) at the University of Pécs Medical School (UPMS).
The purpose of our visit was to start cooperation and information exchange in the field of teaching ESP for medical students. We were welcomed by a team of enthusiastic teachers who generously shared their know-how and teaching experiences with us, and openly answered our questions. As we were observing their lessons, we were naturally comparing our teaching practice with theirs. We admired the elegant way the crucial skills for future medical professionals were transferred – using the English language, students acquired better overall and also patient centered communication skills; two birds with one stone. All simulation scenarios were based on authentic case studies, mirroring the students’ future practice in their professional lives. We found it all very impressive.
