The general assembly of the Circle of Demonstrators was organized online on 21 April using the videoconference app, “ZOOM” as a platform, -due to the pandemic situation. All in all, 112 participants (mentor teachers, students and academic staff) took part in the online event. The students who won the scholarship of the Circle of Demonstrators and the teachers with outstanding mentor work were granted awards.
Since the foundation of the Circle of Demonstrators in 2015, 578 students have joined the organisation. In the past years, more than a hundred students have worked as demonstrators in various departments and clinical wards each semester. The outstanding students of the Hungarian, German and English programs won awards based on the number of their active demonstrator semesters, the credits gained in the framework of their demonstrator work, participating in workshops and other related activities. Prof. Dr. Miklós Nyitrai dean, Prof. Dr. László Czopf, vice-dean for education and Dr. Andrea Tamás, president of the Circle of Demonstrators handed over the prizes to the awardees and to the teachers with outstanding mentor activity. The demonstrator workshops have always been successful and popular among students. This spring, the primary focus of the workshops was the development of the methodological and teaching skills of demonstrator students as well as the improvement of their skills related to internal medicine and physical examination of patients.
After the welcome speech and greetings by Prof. Dr. Miklós Nyitrai, dean and Dr. Andrea Tamás, president of the Circle of Demonstrators, Prof. Dr. Dóra Reglődi vice-dean for science, chair of the Department of Anatomy held her presentation about the demonstration activity in the institute. Dr. László Czopf, vice-dean for education provided information regarding the changes in the bylaws of the organisation. Afterwards, Zsombor Márton, Orsolya Kintli and Anna Padisák senior demonstrators presented their experiences regarding the Workshop for the Demonstrators of the Department of Languages for Biomedical Purposes and Communication. Aida Kerbeche and Patrick Nimmler presented briefly about the workshop, where the students could practice physical patient examination. Marika Felber held her presentation about the German “Fit for Famulatur” internal medicine workshop. Kristóf Filipánits, Secretary of the Circle of Demonstrators had an active involvement in the successful organization of this very special online assembly.
