From now until the end of November, the products, and thematic informative programs of the University of Pécs will be available in a popular shop on Király Street in Pécs, thanks to an open tender announced by the Pécs Megyei Jogú Város Önkormányzata and Pécs Vagyonhasznosító Zrt.
The operation of the shop at Király street 20 in Pécs is advertised under the name K20 Kirakat, as a business incentive programme of the Pécs Megyei Jogú Város Önkormányzata and Pécs Vagyonhasznosító Zrt., thus helping local companies.
The winner of the tender this time was JuridEco Zrt., owned by the University of Pécs, which will be able to take possession of the shop from now until the end of November. JuridEco Zrt., as the operator of www.pteshop.hu, has defined the range of products to be sold based on international and Hungarian market research. The products are intended for former and current citizens of the University of Pécs, with a novel image customized for the university, also symbolising the connection between the UP and the city of Pécs.
At the opening on 4 August, it was announced that the K20 Kirakat will no longer be a shop in the traditional sense, but much more than that. The University of Pécs is planning to organize informative workshops, lectures, and demonstrations in the next four months. There will be chocolate, wine, beer, coffee, and honey tasting in the frame of interactive workshops, but they are also planning a fashion show of UP products, with a spectacular performance by the UP Dancing University. Moreover, the space will also serve as a university and city InfoPoint, with significant city and university publications available, and visitors can gather information on enrolment to the university as well.
Both the city of Pécs and the UP are well-known for their commitment to green programs, with environmental protection and nature conservation being key strategic objectives of both the city and the university. The values of the Green University and the Green City programs, and their implementation will also be visible at the K20 Kirakat.
