Growing support for the Medical School and Faculty of Pharmacy’s holiday charity drive

10 December 2025

Donations continue to accumulate in the joint charity campaign of the Medical School and Faculty of Pharmacy in Pécs, organized in cooperation with the local team of the Heti Betevő Association. Stationery, children’s toys, sweets and hygiene products can be dropped off until 19 December in the collection box placed at the entrance of the Dr György Romhányi Aula, where contributions are steadily arriving from those wishing to help.

As previously reported, the initiative primarily addresses members of the two faculties, but the organizers also warmly welcome support from outside the university community.

The Heti Betevő Association has for years been providing hot meals and basic food supplies to people in need, relying solely on volunteers and donations. The Pécs team has been serving meals every other Sunday in Uránváros since 2016, working with an increasing number of volunteers; at the same time, as noted on their website, the number of registered families requiring assistance is also growing.

The collected donations will be distributed on Sunday, 21 December, from 12:30 p.m., alongside a regular meal service held under the Uránváros overpass, near the Pécs Municipal Ice Rink. The organizers continue to welcome medical and pharmacy students, lecturers and staff members who wish to assist in person. Participation can be indicated via the registration form provided until noon on 19 December.
