According to both the calendar and the weather, spring has arrived, and with it the sound of the 12th Spring Concert that will fill the Dr. György Romhányi Auditorium at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Pécs. On March 31 at 7:00 PM, students, professors, and staff from the Medical and Pharmacy Faculties will come together to celebrate the freshness, joy, and energy of spring through music.
The Spring Concert, with a history spanning more than a decade, is traditionally one of the most colorful events in the life of the faculty community, where audiences can enjoy a mix of classical melodies, popular hits, and contemporary works. This year, the performers include both Hungarian and international students, who often showcase their talent and creativity in collaborative performances.
This year’s special novelty is the PTE Orchestra, a symphony orchestra formed last September from students of the University of Pécs Faculty of Medicine and Faculty of Pharmacy, that will take the stage now as well, delighting the audience with new musical performances. The evening’s atmosphere will also be enriched by the PTE Voice POTEntial choir and the Dance Clinic group, offering the audience a truly lively, dynamic, and diverse experience.
The Spring Concert is not only a celebration of music but also of community: during the event, the PTE Faculty of Medicine Well-Being Award will be presented. This award recognizes individuals and groups who make outstanding contributions to promoting the well-being philosophy of the faculty. It can be awarded to professors, students, or staff who contribute to maintaining mental health, strengthening community cohesion, supporting stress management, and creating an inclusive, supportive, and inspiring faculty environment.
The event is free of charge and open to everyone – students, professors, residents of Pécs, and music lovers. The detailed program will be announced by the organizers in due course.
