Invitation to tomorrow’s zoom lecture, embedded in the ERASMUS International Lecture Series ‘Translational Neuroscience’

19 January 2021

Prof. Carine Ali & Dr. Thomas Bonnard – University of Caen Normandy
‘Translational molecular imaging of brain inflammation’

The next lecture of the ERASMUS International Lecture Series on “Translational Neuroscience” with the participation of UP MS (c.f. https://aok.pte.hu/en/hirek/hir/13278) is held on Wednesday, 20 January 2021 , 17.00 - 18.30 PM.

Prof. Carine A is professor of Neurosciences at University of Caen Normandy.  She obtained her PhD in 2000 in France and performed a first post-doctoral stay in Madrid (Cajal Institute) and then in Manchester (Welcome Trust Fellow). Her research projects focus is on diagnosing and treating stroke events, mostly using preclinical models. Prof. Ali is the head of the Master degree in Neurosciences and the director of the MD-PhD programme (University of Caen Normandy).

Dr. Thomas Bonnard obtained his PhD in biomedical engineering at Paris Sorbonne Cité University in 2014, developing biomaterials in the Laboratory for Vascular Translational Science (Inserm, U1148) directed by prof Letourneur. He then expanded his skills on nanomedicine synthesis through a postdoctoral experience oversea in Melbourne, Australia, in the  NanoBiotechnology lab headed by Prof. Hagemeyer, thanks to a European fellowship (WHRI academy – Marie Curie COFUND). In 2018 he joined, thanks to a fellowship from University of Caen Normandy (UCN), the Laboratory of Physiopathology and Imaging of Neurological Disorders (PhIND – Inserm U1237) in France, directed by Prof. Denis Vivien, with the project of developing nanomedicines for molecular imaging of vascular inflammation. He was recently appointed an Inserm researcher position and is co-leading the In vivo brain imaging theme with Dr. Maxime Gauberti within the Blood and Brain Institute (BB@C).
