The cyclists were welcomed with breakfast and information stands at the UP Medical School on 22 September. The leadership of the School arrived on two wheels as well, promoting the healthy and environmentally friendly mode of transport.
The cyclists’ breakfast organized by the English-German Student Council (EGSC) of the Medical School drew attention to the importance of health preservation, protecting the environment, and reducing the ecological footprint. From half-past seven in the morning, the students were welcomed with coffee, muesli, pastries, and apples, many of whom cycle to the School every day and everyone arriving on two wheels was welcome.
The Baranya County Police Headquarters also supported the event; bicycles could be engraved free of charge on the spot. The bike receives a unique ID during the procedure, so if it gets lost, it is easier to identify.
Awareness of the use of helmets has been highlighted, as many people do not wear them, although they can protect us from serious injuries. A university photo competition was also announced to promote the use of helmets.
Gifts were drawn among those who submitted the photos; the three lucky winners were Reyhane Dehdary, Boglárka Martos, and Minho Ko.
During the cyclists’ breakfast, the leadership of the Medical School - Dean Miklós Nyitrai and Vice-Deans Tamás Tényi and László Czopf - arrived on two wheels as well, promoting a healthy and environmentally-friendly form of exercise, and Professor András Büki, head of the UP Clinical Center Department of Neurosurgery also supported the cause.
