The director of the Jordanian Royal Medical Service, brigadier general and heart surgeon dr. Yousef Zureikat visited the Hungary on invitation from the University of Pécs Medical School between June 26 and July 2. The distinguished delegation visited the Pécs Medical School between June 26 and 27.
According to colonel dr. István Kobolka, docent of the UP MS Department of Public Health Medicine, Defence Research Centre, the Jordanian delegation consisted of three generals, one lieutenant colonel and one civilian. Dr. Yousef Jamal Zureikat brigadier general was accompanied by dr. Abeer Haddadin brigadier general, dr. Mohammad Alikmah lieutenant coloner and Zaid Haddadin on his trip to Hungary.
The delegation visited several departments at the Medical School: the Medical Skills Education and Innovation Centre, the 3d Printing and Visualisation Centre, the Department of Dentistry, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, the Department of Heart Surgery, the 1st Department of Internal Medicine and the Anatomy Department.
The delegation was in Budapest on June 28, visiting the Gottsegen György National Cardiovascular Institute (GOVKI), where dr. Yousef Jamal Zureikat brigadier general participated in the surgery of an infant. They visited the Hungarian Armed Forces Aeromedical, Military Screening and Healthcare Institute in Kecskemét on June 29. They also visited the Parliament, the exhibition of the Ministry of Defence in the Bálna, after which they left for home on July 2.

As it is known, the Pécs Medical School signed a three-year bilateral collaboration with the Jordanian Royal Medical Service in 2020. This was extended by three more years in Spring 2023. The cooperation includes medical and nursing courses, education in operational medicine, exchanging know-hows, and PhD programs for both parties.
