“Life Essence Academy” workshop held by the Department of Languages for Biomedical Purposes and Communication

27 September 2023

Kata Eklics and Judit Szalai-Solcsányi from the Department of Languages for Biomedical Purposes and Communication and an enthusiastic team of teaching assistant students met participants interested in the English-language Life Essence Academy programme on September 22, 2023.

The integration and quality education of Hungarian and international students are among the main objectives of the faculty. In a multicultural environment, teachers and students face numerous challenges, which are often difficult to manage effectively. Intensive and long-term stress caused by demands, social pressure, cultural differences, learning difficulties, and personal concerns can have a serious impact on a person’s mental health. Conscious energy management can help to avoid exhaustion. But where do we get energy? How can we stay motivated to the goals we have set? What helps us to carry out our plans, even when we don’t have enough strength to do so?

These questions inspired the staff of the Department of Languages for Biomedical Purposes and Communication to organize the workshop entitled “Life Essence Academy”. Emese Király, the founder of the Life Essence Academy and coach with expertise in integrative self-awareness training, was invited to the meeting as a guest lecturer. Through the programme, students were able to explore the energy reserves that can contribute to their healthy life energy levels.

Senior year demonstration students: Beck Brandon, Cameron Shaw, Mahan Sayadinia, Lontia Banda, Onuh Deborah Adigo and Abdulaleem Hikmah Folashade have prepared to play games, conducted physical and emotional condition surveys, as well as lectures that can facilitate university studies and help to achieve a more stress-free life. For the participants, a Well-Being catering was provided with healthy snacks and refreshing green tea.

The programme was not only aimed at promoting mental well-being, but has also taken an active role in the internationalization efforts of the University of Pécs, Medical School. The organizers thank the faculty’s leadership for their support.
